BIO

The arts and creation have always attracted Maryse. It is with passion that she completes her studies in production of the performing arts. She quickly discovers an artistic sense for makeup and the light that reveals it.

For nearly 20  years, Maryse has stood out for her creative, precise and dynamic brushwork. It is her ability to adapt, her good energy, her applied technique and her ease in remaining concrete and structured that have called her to create and work in hundreds of varied contexts.

Her experience at Cirque Du Soleil allowed her to be a makeup designer. She designed the makeup for a dozen shows, including  ALIZÉ, LUZIA, TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE, BAZZAR, SPIRIT, AMORA, AXEL, GUY! GUY! GUY!  and participates in the creation of fifteen other shows for the company.

On the strength of these achievements, Maryse was invited by the Prague Biennale in 2023 to represent Canada in makeup design as a speaker for the event. She was also invited three times by the IMATS convention as a speaker in Los Angeles and Toronto.  Maryse was also featured in NETFLIX'S GLOW UP fourth season in 2022 as a guest judge.

These experiences allowed her to travel around the world in more than thirty countries via Dubai, Tokyo and Melbourne. Her perfect bilingual and  ability to communicate clearly  has taught thousands of foreign acrobats to apply their very elaborate artistic makeup themselves.

At the same time, she designed makeup for diverses theatres productions all around Montreal. She is currently working on VISAGES by Alexia Burger for the Ottawa CNA and L'espace Go. Director Hugo Bélanger entrusted Gosselin with the faces of four theatrical productions: The Dreamer in his Bath in 2021 as well as Around the World in 80 days presented at the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde in 2015, Pinocchio presented at Place des Arts in 2012 and MÜNCHHAUSEN, the machinery of the imagination presented at the Denise-Pelletier Theater in 2011.

Versatile, she works in entertainment, television and advertising.
